Special Opportunity:  Summer Vicar

We have the opportunity to have a summer vicar serve us this year from June-August from the Ft. Wayne Seminary.  There is no cost to the church for this service if we can find someone to provide room and board for the seminarian from June-August.  The young man in question is one of Pastor Curtis' former students from Concordia University - Chicago and would be an excellent house guest.  If you can provide a place to stay and three square meals a day for this single seminarian this summer, please call Pastor Curtis: 459-3991.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans - Change in Giving Plus Program

Thrivent has budgeted an additional $4.8 million for the 2007 GivingPlus program, a 20 percent increase that brings the total 2007 budget up to $28 Million.  Please remember that the good that our Thrivent organization does depends on the support of benefit Members and on Thrivent's financial success.  Another change of which you may be aware involves associate members who pay a $10 membership fee but own no Thrivent Financial products.  Effective January 1, 2007, these members will no longer eligible to have their gifts supplemented by Thrivent.  This change will better alighn Thrivent's resources with those Members who own products, given that it is through revenue generated from sale of Thrivent Financial products that the organization can fund its gift matching and community programs.  If you have any questions or if you would like to know how to become a Thrivent member eligible to have your gifts supplemented please contact Kevin Rust, Thrivent Financial Associate at 618-406-1632
