BeliefsTrinity Lutheran Church is a
congregation of The
Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We are a confessional Lutheran
Church. This means we are catholic (catholic means universal) but not
Roman Catholic. We are evangelical (Gospel-focused) but not a part
of the modern Evangelical movement. We hold that Jesus Christ crucified
and risen again for the forgiveness of our sins (justification) is the
very center and core of who we are. Our Lord comes to us to forgive us
sins and give us Himself through the Word of God, preaching, baptism,
absolution (forgiveness) and the Lord's Supper. Below you will find various readings regarding our faith. Feel free to use them. But you are also invited to call (618/459-3979) or write (pastorcurtis@gmail.com) our Pastor with any questions you might have. The one, catholic (universal Christian) and apostolic faith is confessed in the three ecumenical creeds:
This faith is also confessed in the Book of Concord of 1580, including:
The What About SeriesThe immediate past-president of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod was Dr. A.L. Barry. Dr. Barry wrote a very helpful series of pamphlets entitled the What About series. Ranging on topics from What About Christian Families to Baptism to Islam and everything in between, this series is a helpful summary of many of the doctrines of the Christian faith in an easy to use format. Our
Pastor, Professional Staff, and Volunteers Many people help care for the members
and property of Trinity. Of course there is the Pastor who is charged with
faithfully preaching the Word and administering the Sacraments. But there
are also professional staff members (secretary, janitor) and all sorts of
volunteers (from elected congregational officers to folks who sign up to
clean the sanctuary) who see to various needs around the congregation.
Each year, the congregation sponsors a Sausage Supper in the fall, and a
Dinner Auction in the spring. Various other projects help to provide
what is necessary for the continuation of Trinity Church, keeping in mind
the original concept back in 1877, of a growing, loving, caring group of
parishioners, which is ongoing today. Click
