Inside of the church is renovated - Fall 1976 In the fall of 1976,
the inside of the church was renovated at a cost of $8,394.78. This included
sanctuary, gold accents, baptism and communion symbols,
canvas of Jesus at the altar, and repainting and refinishing of permanent woodwork to the ceiling.
This is the second major anniversary project.
Church records were rebound - 1976 During the 1970's the old and new record books were rebound, as well as available voters minutes up to 1965. Church records are being updated with the publishing of this history. In addition to the bound volumes, loose leaf records were purchased and are being completed. Bulletins and annual reports since 1940 were filed in folders for reference. A newsletter called "To the Saints" supplies information to members and friends.
100th anniversary of the Trinity congregation is celebrated - 28 Aug 1977 The church like the town celebrates one
hundred years in 1977. The
church celebrated May 8th and August 28th.
And the town remembered one hundred years, June 10th to 12th.
The church had a special service on Sunday, June 12th, as a community service. The following was the
last statement in the history section of the 1877 - 1977 church directory.
"By the grace of God we dedicate this history to the remembrance of all who
have gone before, all who are now living and all yet to be born in the name of the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."

Pastor Heath Ryan Curtis was installed - 18 Dec 2005 Pastor
Curtis was installed during a special service at Trinity. The regular
church service was held at 10:30. A pot luck dinner was held at the Parishioners
Hall at 12:00 Noon. The installation service was held at 1:30.
Heath Ryan Curtis was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on July 7th, 1977. He was baptized into the Christian faith seventeen days later at Good Shepherd Lutheran (ALC) and received confirmation and first Communion on May 3rd,1992 at Peace Lutheran Church (LCMS) in McCook, Nebraska. He graduated from Concordia University - Nebraska in 2000 with a BA in Theology, having been awarded the Pre-Seminary Student Award. A week after graduation he married Rebekah (nee Gilbert) of Yorkville, IL. The marriage has been blessed by the births of Anastasia in 2002 and Silas in 2004. A third child is expected in May 2006. In 2000, then Sem. Curtis' studies began at Concordia Seminary and Washington University in St. Louis. Before graduating from the Seminary in 2004 with the MDiv, he was awarded the Kuhlmann Homiletics Endowment, the Stueve Scholarship for GPA, and the Dissen Scholarship for Systematic Theology. Having finished his master's thesis in 2004, he was awarded the MA in Classics from Washington University. Pastor Curtis served his vicarage at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Waterford, WI under the able guidance of PR. F. A. Bischoff in 2002-2003. Pastor Curtis was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry on the Commemoration of the Beheading of St. John the Baptizer (19 August) 2004. From that date he served as assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Burr Ridge, IL. Pastor Curtis has also served as Visiting Lecturer in Exegetical Theology at Concordia Seminary (2003-2004) and Adjunct Professor of Theology at Concordia University - River Forest (2005). His writing have appeared in both scholarly (The Bride of Christ, Concordia Journal) and popular (Lutheran Witness, Higher Things, Creation ex nihilo) journals. Pastor
Curtis enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, hunting, fishing, and
Nebraska Cornhusker football. He will attempt not to accentuate his
fondness for the Chicago Cubs - especially when they are playing the Cardinals.
